PEOPLE DEDICATED TO QUALITY
What does PDQ stand for? People Dedicated to Quality.
From our amazing guests to our dedicated staff—people come first.
You’ll see why the minute you walk in and are greeted with a smile at the counter or a real-person at the drive-through (no machines here) – just real people making real food. And when it’s ready (in just a few fresh minutes), we’ll call your name. At your cozy booths or the counter, we’ll check in on you, too. Sorry if we get chatty. We like people.
Because we are People Dedicated to Quality, our hospitality and food are Just Made, Better. This is our promise to our guests and a daily reminder to ourselves. Just Made, Better is our rallying cry, our soul, and what we deliver every day through our food, our people, our restaurants, and to our local communities.
OUR STORY
At PDQ, we’re People Dedicated to Quality. But mostly, we’re committed to you.
In 2009 our Founders, Bob and Nick, were hungry to build a new kind of restaurant. One that makes people the focus, and quality the bottom line.
Bob was in search of fresh flavor and inspiration, and Nick wanted a place that served fresh, fast food he felt good about feeding to his kids.
So they hit the road and (lucky for us) found just what they were looking for in North Carolina. A friendly down-home neighborhood joint called Tenders with the tastiest, freshest, made-from-scratch chicken tenders. They made a deal on the spot with mom and pop, and in 2011 opened the first PDQ in Tampa, Florida. Best road trip, ever.
Bob and Nick knew they had something special at the opening of our first Tampa restaurant on Halloween weekend. Car lines wrapped around the building, and folks kept coming back for more.
From the beginning, Bob and Nick believed food should be fresh, fast and affordable. They believed in working with good people. And, they believed in unwavering quality and hospitality.
It’s what makes us People Dedicated to Quality. It’s not just words. It’s our passion and our purpose. And in everything we do, it reflects our commitment to you.
Every time I drive by this place it is always busy, long car lines so it has to be good. Decided to give it a try today and wanted to sit down to have it properly, the line inside was just as long as it was outside. Decided on 2 items that their known for a and one that seems to be a limited time. Shakes look good but wasn’t in the mood for one.
After patiently waiting, we finally received our meal, it was certainly fresh and made to order. It was good, but just not great. Maybe I just had higher expectations? I honestly couldn’t taste either honey or butter on the sandwich, don’t get me wrong, it was drenched. Chicken tenders were, well…tender, it was good and paired them with honey mustard and ranch (southwest I think?). The Wachos were okay, waffle fries topped with queso and ranch drizzle, bacon and scallions.
Overall, they serve good food, but I prefer certain other places for my chicken tender and sandwich fix.
Excellent food and service! Love their food and salads! Great place for lunch or dinner! Staff is very nice and go out of their way to serve you and get your order as quick as possible! I was so thankful they were open during the shutdown to get take out!!!! Thank you for all your hard work! Waiting for the waffle fries to return!!!! They are the best!!!!
As far as fast food goes, this is 5 star fast food! The service is always excellent, which in today’s day and age is hard to find anywhere, let alone at a FF place. The food is fresh cooked in an open kitchen so you can see everything going on. I love the waffle fries and really hard to beat the Buffalo chicken sandwich is the world of FF chicken Sandwiches. My kids love the chicken tenders and sauce choices.
Always super clean and wait times commensurate with food cooked for you, not in advance of you…
The workers are polite pleasant and accommodating. I found my first time there a bit intimidating because you can’t really see the menu until you get to the window. But it was fine! The menu is small and the guy at the window helped me decide.
I ordered a salad with crispy chicken both visits. It was good fresh and had plenty of chicken on it. Very tasty.
When I’m in the area I will definitely go again and try more of the menu.
PDQ is a trifecta of great food, great value & great service! I have been a customer since opening day and have eaten there, taken out & catered as well. They have a great environment, staff is overly nice, mgr. frequents tables checking on customers asking if there is anything you may need. Their chicken is moist and lightly crispy breading- Always fresh & hot. Food portions exceed expectations. Great variety of menu options & a variety of dipping sauces at no extra charge. Thick delicious milkshakes & bottles of Cheerwine! I only wish they would bring back the blueberry coleslaw, skinny fries & Caesar Salad! I have Never had anything but great dining experiences here and that attests to how Kendall, the mgr. treats his staff & runs this location- Wellington is lucky to have such people dedicated to quality- thank you!
I can concur – food was great and the service is truly excellent! I sat at the counter and felt very comfortable. Zucchini fries were very crispy and delicious. Enjoyed PDQ so much – I had to come back there the next day with my friend. Really enjoyed those glass bottles of that Cherry soda they had up in the front – it tasted very “mature”.
So expensive but your buffalo blue tenders are great! I’d buy them all the time if it didn’t cost so much !
First of all I must have driven pass this place a million times and had not a clue what it was. Then one day the husband and I were driving by and decided to randomly start coming up with ideas of what PDQ stood for. Most of them were dirty, some of them were silly, and then we just gave up and decided to pull in the parking lot to check the place out.
Upon entering we saw it was a chicken sandwich place. Yes! So what was up with the PDQ? It apperenly stands for People Dedicated to Quality. Okay, not quite what we were thinking. Not sure who was in charge of naming the place but definitely doesn’t have the greatest flow for a restaurant name. Either way who cares about that. On to the food!
We walk up to the counter and place the order. I’ve got two words for you when ordering HONEY BUTTER. That’s all you need to know. So we ordered 2 honey butter chicken sandwiches and of course black and white milkshakes because heaven forbid I go a day without one. No sooner do I order and get handed my change then boom order is up already. Talk about quick service. It’s like they read my mind before I ordered. Sit down and wow! Let me just explain to you that this honey butter sandwich was fried chicken that they then throw a ton of butter on (not joking, see pic below). I mean it was just dripping buttery goodness right out of the wrapper. I may of found a new love. The milkshake on the other hand was kinda meh. I’ll have to go back and have another one just in case it was a fluke.
For all of you Chick-Fil-A fans PDQ blows them out of the water. Give it a shot. It’s sure not to disappoint!
This was my second time at PDQ but first time at the Wellington location!
I made the trek all the way from Miramar just for a doctors appointment at the new Cleveland Clinic in Wellington (btw, it’s a brand new clinic along with their Coral Springs location) & was starving after my visit. Luckily PDQ is right in front of the clinic. It was calling my name!
My dad isn’t a big fan of chicken but he didn’t seem to mind here. The staff is very friendly and live up to their motto- People Deserve Quality.
The food was wonderful as usual. I got the chicken salad with honey mustard dressing & my dad got the burger with pineapple in it. Forgive me, I can’t quite remember their names. The fries were thin and crispy, which is my ultimate fav & they resemble Steak n’ Shake fries if you need a reference.
They also have those advance soda machines with a million different options so definitely opt for getting a soda fountain drink & try as many as you want. It’s worth it!
If I ever find myself in this area again, I’d definitely stop by.
Best peanut butter cup with vanilla milkshake you’ll ever have in your life additionally best chicken I got to say it competes very well with Chick-fil-A and their staff is nothing to fall short of always always always incredibly attentive and to the nines. Just recently I visited they mixed up and gave me a sandwich instead of the chicken nuggets so I drove around they gave me a free meal for next time totally unnecessary super nice I did not mind at all and by the way the chicken nuggets were fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. LOVE PDQ !!!!
