So What Makes Sal’s Italian So Special?
Our recipes and our ingredients. Whether the aroma of our fresh baked breads, the smell of simmering sauce or the scent of the fresh garlic in extra virgin olive oil, something tells you that you are about to have a truly authentic Italian experience that is sure to delight you!
Our People Are Our Real Key Ingredient.
It’s more than great food! Sal’s culture can be defined in one word: Family. We are a family-owned and operated company, but more than that, our team has a ” family ” way of connecting and caring for one another and our customers.
From the moment you walk in the smell of garlic and sauce hit you and you’re always greeted with a very warm welcome to whoever is at the front door.
We sat down and we were greeted by Pedro and he was an excellent excellent server he recommended the pasta soup and along with an antipasto everything was absolutely delicious hot and fresh.
My husband chose the chicken Parmesan with a side of angel hair pasta and olive oil and garlic sauce it was incredible. I highly recommend this little mom and pop place it was absolutely delicious and again as soon as you walk in you smell the garlic, enjoy!
I called Sal’s Italian Restaurant last week to make arrangements for a family meal after my father’s burial at the National Memorial Cemetery a mile away. I spoke to Olivia to make all of the necessary arrangements to have my family of 15 sit in the same area as well as away from the other diners, as to not disrupt their meals. I have to admit I was a little defeated by the time I called Sal’s since I had just called to TooJay’s down the road before reaching Olivia and TooJay’s was extremely rude and disrespectful and would not help me. Olivia couldn’t have been more opposite, she definitely exceeded my expectations at that point! She listened to me and understood my family’s needs, even offering condolences multiple times throughout our conversation. She bent over backwards to make me feel like I had made the right choice to gather with my family after such an emotional experience at her restaurant.
Once it was time to head over for our late lunch about 2:30, a half hour earlier than I originally told Olivia, we were greeted by a super friendly woman behind the counter and a gentleman who showed us to our tables. They were already pre-set with disposable tablecloths and our server promptly took our drink order and brought us garlic rolls. I did notice that the servers that took care of us would politely stand back if they saw us talking with other family members to respect our privacy and family time, super impressive! There were 15 of us so I don’t really recall what everybody ordered but I will say we did order off of the lunch menu since we were there before 4. The lunch specials came with either a garden salad or soup as well as the basket of garlic rolls. My sister and cousin ordered the lentil soup which they raved about, I had the pasta fagioli soup which was absolutely the best version of the soup I’ve ever had! I ordered the chicken piccata and it was huge for $12.99! My husband and two of our children ordered the two pizza slice lunch which were enormous slices and a beverage. I know my other son ordered the shrimp scampi (not a lunch special), one of my sister’s order the enormous chicken parmesan lunch platter, my other sister ordered clams which were overflowing off of the plate and my dad’s girlfriend had a big boat of lasagna. I couldn’t see what my aunt and uncle or cousin ordered or my other nephews but everybody was pretty happy and left with leftovers.
We sat there for nearly two hours even though our food came out promptly. There were several family members we hadn’t seen in years so we took this opportunity to sit and reminisce. We never felt rushed, in fact, I even had to ask for my check when I felt ready for us to leave. I would normally not be that disrespectful and hold up tables but it was an slow time in the restaurant, between lunch and breakfast. Our server even offered to take several family photos of our group! I can’t recommend this restaurant and management team enough, especially if you are visiting the National Memorial Cemetery in Boynton Beach a mile away. Bravo Olivia and bravo!
This is my go to place for Lunch! I love the lunch specials, great price, great quantity, great taste and great service. Keeps me coming back, nothing but great things to say.
I recommend:
-Pretty much anything on lunch special menu
-Grandmas Sicilian Pizza
From the moment you walk through the doors you feel like you have arrived in Italy! Family, food and atmosphere are beyond perfect. Fresh and home made from a real Italian owner! If you go once, you will not only become a regular, but you will be family!!
Awesome pizza, their sauce taste very unique and i would say much better than many other pizza places. Plus their wings are just as good! This will definitely be one of my go to pizza spots for delivery!
I don’t know why there’s so many bad reviews. Good pizza. And everyone was friendly. I was satisfied and will be back for more.
A little shocked, my family’s been getting pizza from Sal’s for a long time. They used to be the best in the area. They’ve been a little hit or miss lately, but we still kept coming back because it’s always tasty and satisfying.
This last time was different though. We found that ordering extra cheese gets the pizza almost back to how it used to be so we ordered a peperoni with extra cheese and a sausage with extra cheese. The sausage one was tasty as always, but the peperoni looked completely different. It definitely wasn’t extra cheese and the color was greyish. The cheese was hard like thin plastic and practically inedible. What’s worse is my Mom lifted up a slice and all the peperoni just fell right off. It definitely seems like an old cheese pizza that had been sitting there for who knows how long before someone put peperoni on it and reheated it.
That’s not an accident or a mistake. We won’t be coming back.
