Sourbon Kitchen + Bar offers a refined Contemporary American dining experience in a sleek, botanical dining room and cocktail bar on Clematis Street, the pulsating center of Downtown West Palm Beach. The modern eatery’s elevated American menu draws inspiration from global destinations and features a selection of shareables, raw bar items, local greens, Florida seafood, grilled meats, comfort dishes and pastas, incorporating seasonal and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. The cocktail bar is a destination on its own, offering a comprehensive selection of hand-crafted cocktails inspired by the upstairs speakeasy, craft beer and an extensive wine selection. On select nights and weekends, live entertainment creates a social setting for after dinner drinks into the late hours.
This restaurant is beautiful! I definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the area. It is decorated with beautiful greenery hanging from the ceiling, chandeliers, and string lights. It smells like fresh greenery throughout the whole restaurant. The food was great! We ordered two charcuterie boards and escargot for the table. Most of our party ordered the chicken fettucine which was amazing!
The missing star is for the reservation process. We were a large group of 11 girls for a bachelorette party. We called to see if we could make a reservation and were told absolutely not, they were fully booked and could not accommodate a large party. After asking if there was anything they could do, they finally told us that they had a table available and could come in that night. When we got there, the ENTIRE RESTAURANT WAS EMPTY. Literally not a single person there. You can even see from the pictures I took that no one was there.
I had a half dozen raw oysters for an appetizer which I always usually eat before the main entree. For dinner, I had the Crab Stuffed Salmon and it was probably the best I’ve ever tasted. The salmon was seasoned perfectly and the flavor of the crab, potatoes, and spinach combined were out of this world. I was savoring every bite it was that good. The beautiful garden/like decor initially attracted me to the restaurant but I must say that the ambiance, drinks, and friendliness of the staff added to my whole experience. They also have a small speakeasy upstairs with a DJ where you can grab a late night drink after dinner. Visited from out of town but will definitely be back whenever I return!
I passed this restaurant on clematis and looked really cool inside. So I took to Yelp and the reviews are not great for reservations but we didn’t have an issue and wasn’t busy when we walked in at 730pm, got busier around 830pm. Prices are high for clematis but they have to pay crazy rent I’m sure. We were looking to have a combination bachelorette and bachelor party of 18 but they said they can’t accommodate us which is odd cause restaurant is a nice size. But oh well. That’s why it’s 4 stars not 5! I order a lavender martini and it was perfectly balanced. I ordered the tuna tartare it was a great size and a ton of tuna for $17. I would of done beef carpaccio but they were out. My friend got burccetta and octopus and both were delicious. I would go back!
The first of its kind on Clematis and breath of fresh air. Unlike all of the other restaurants, Sourbon has created an environment similar to a botanical garden. Plants, flowers and greenery everywhere! It reminds me of a Pinterest board with all of the hanging plants, unique lighting, and calm vibe.
I didn’t end up eating here, but I did get a craft cocktail. What I really enjoyed was how customers can place their drink order- by a taste they are in the mood for. I asked for fruity and lavender inspired. I was given an elegant cocktail with a fresh sprig of lavender burning, garnished with white flowers. Absolutely delicious. Every person gets a unique drink to match their palette! I will most certainly be returning for a dinner date!
Tricky to rate this spot as the vibes are easily a five as are the drinks. Was super bummed that the speak easy wasn’t opened the night we went but that’s our fault for not checking. The service was OK, a little slow given the restaurant wasn’t that full in the early evening. The steak frites and the Brussels were super flavorful and tasty. Didn’t love the meatballs or the bolognese. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the sauce was flavorful but the meat flavor just didn’t do it for me. I think this would be a killer happy hour spot. Definitely go, get all the drinks, enjoy the decor and if you need a meal go steak frites with the Brussels!
I don’t usually give a 5 star but this place deserves it! We had two appetizers- the grilled octopus and the ceviche both were amazing. We shared the seafood pasta for dinner and it was delish with great flavor. The tiramisu for dessert was probably the best I have ever had – light, fluffy- so delish!!! The carrot cake was amazing as well! Will def go back!!!!!!!
Love stopping in here for cocktails and appetizers when walking around West Palm Beach. The inside is a perfect restaurant to take pictures with a unique backdrop. The cocktails are all on the fancy side, and by that I mean they use a wide variety of ingredients that may not be suited for many at first glance, but try it and you might like it. I most recently tried the Bruschetta Trio and it was fantastic! The portion was huge, definitely enough for a meal or to share. This is a great spot for a date as it is very cozy inside, I definitely would recommend to a friend.
Sourbon is a beautiful restaurant off of Clematis Street. I love the decor and aesthetics. I met some friends here for supper.
The food was amazing that I tried. I had some smoked salmon salad, potatoes side and creme brûlée for dessert. I also tried some bruschetta to start. The food did take a extremely long time to get, close to an hour. And there were only 4 of us, so it wasn’t a big party. Plus the server was extremely aloof and not very friendly.
Hope their service and time to receive food improves because it’s quite a lovely restaurant with some good food.
super super disappointed with this place. aesthetics only get you so far…our waitress was absolutely terrible. i know times are tough and restaurants are understaffed, i am always one to commend great work but this was not even close to being up to par. it took her an hour to come over and get my drink order. i almost walked out if i weren’t with two other people. then, another hour to come take our food order. i couldn’t believe it. she’d walk right by our table and not stop by. then we sat there finished with our food, and drinks (she never came back to ask if we wanted another drink) and then we waited 45 mins for the check!! the restaurant was empty at this point and she was cleaning. we were sitting there staring into space at this point waiting. i will never ever be back. complete waste of an evening. reservation was for 7:45 and we left after 11. one drink served to us in over 3 hours.
i won’t even get started with the food, mediocre at best. drinks were great but we were only able to enjoy one since our server abandoned us.
Had a lovely experience here! As you can probably tell by the photos, the atmosphere is just gorgeous. Tons of plants and beautiful lights with plush, velvet couches and detailed decor… it is a dream. Great for photos 😉
As for the food and drinks, I thorough enjoyed everything. I had the thyme margarita — ask for it spicy if you want it to be a little more flavorful! We split the charcuterie board as an app which was amazing. If you’re a bread & butter lover like me, ask for extra on the side; they have some sort of herb butter that is divine.
I had the crab salad as an entree and loved it. My boyfriend liked his chicken fettuccine (although the portion was a bit small). My friend’s chicken milanese was delicious and that portion was huge.
They also have a speakeasy upstairs that makes some killer espresso martinis. We will definitely be stopping back here again.
